Working from Home

Hello, and welcome!

In the midst of the economic recession that began in 2007, I took a leap of faith and answered an ad on Craigslist that read,

"My Paris for your LA." At the time, I was unemployed so I packed up and went to Paris for several months.

I didn't know it at the time, but my life would forever be changed by this event.

I had no idea what was next, I only knew that I could get used to living abroad. Something about life overseas felt different.

I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but life somehow felt so much more colorful and light.

Of course, it didn't take long to discover that living abroad was no different than living anywhere else. Very quickly, it became quite clear that this was not the same as an extended vacation. It took a few years, but eventually, I settled in to my new life overseas.

To date, I have lived and worked in 9 countries across 4 continents.

I would like to thank SAMHSA and the NBCC Foundation for funding the Minority Fellowship for Mental Health Counselors.

Without their tireless efforts to encourage minority representation in the field of Mental Health Counseling,

this website would not be possible.
